I’m happy to announce that we have survived our first
expedition in Tarangire and Arusha National Parks, despite having hyenas and
leopards in our camp and a 48-hour safari ant invasion. We spent three days in
Tarangire National Park where we counted over 1,000 elephants and saw both
cheetahs and a leopard! The next 3 days were spent in Arusha National Park.
Here, we did a walking safari, getting within feet of cape buffalo and giraffe,
and climbed a portion of Mount Meru. We also did bird counts, counting over 5,000
flamingos, and more animals counts where we witnessed black and white colobus
monkeys, an albino baboon, and hippos!
